Haryana is set to create the world’s largest jungle safari park in the Aravalli range, covering 10,000 acres across Gurugram and Nuh districts. This ambitious project, announced by the state government, aims to be a global landmark in wildlife tourism and conservation.

The jungle safari park will span a vast area, making it the largest of its kind globally. Union Minister for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently visited Sharjah Safari to study its design and operations. Mr. Khattar emphasized the immense potential of developing a jungle safari in Haryana’s NCR region, highlighting the project’s ability to create numerous job opportunities for local communities and boost tourism.
Collaboration and Implementation
The project will be funded by the federal government, with the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change and the Haryana Government working together on its implementation. Two internationally renowned companies with expertise in designing and operating such facilities have been shortlisted through a global Expression of Interest. These companies will participate in a global design contest, and an Aravalli Foundation will be established to oversee the project’s creation and administration.
Conservation and Economic Impact
The Central Zoo Authority has conducted a feasibility assessment and approved the proposal’s technical viability. The project is expected to support conservation efforts in the Aravalli mountain range, home to a rich variety of wildlife, including 180 bird species, 15 mammal species, 29 aquatic and reptilian species, and 57 butterfly species. The planned safari park aims to offer visitors a unique wildlife experience while promoting conservation efforts.
